ASROCK K7NF2-RAID Any good?
Needing a new mobo i'm looking at an ASROCK K7NF2-RAID, i had an asus a7n8x de-luxe till it failed, does the asrock have manual overclocking in the bios? or if anyone can recommend another mobo under £50-£60 which has all the features of the asus.

just saw an asus a7n8x de-luxe on ebay with a buy it now for £30, so i snapped it up. Can i just swap mobo's and boot up with out problems (after i check/change bios) or could i change the bios chip with the one from my old burnt out mobo and just boot as normal. i really dont want to format the h/d.
If anyone can advise me...... Thanks.....Del |

Hi,
If the motherboard is an exact match for the one that died, then you should be able to just switch the motherboard out and have it work. Absent from that or if it does not respond, then you could simply do a repair install. Good luck and let us know if you need further help. Unless you have a burning desire to switch out a BIOS chip, I would not do that, I would just set it up and update the BIOS on the new board you have purchased if in fact it is outdated. Then, if something goes wrong, you have an extra bios chip waiting in the wings (or drawer, where ever you put yours) to use.
