No video

I have been given a Emachine T1115 running xp. Before I got it I saw it working but when I got it the power supply had gone up in smoke. You could smell it. So I changed the power supply first thing. Now when I try to start the computer there is nothing on the monitor. There is just nothing I can't get in to setup at least I can't see it if I have. I have tried three different monitors two are just blank and one tells me to "check the signal cable". I would try a different video card but how would I disable the onboard video since I can't get into the bios? Any help out there?

Does anything else happen when you turn the computer on? Fans? HDD or Power lights? Just open it up and double check that you've got all power connections secure on the motherboard. Also, reseat everything, you might have jiggled something loose when you were in changing the supply. Is the supply at least the same wattage as the old one? Reputable brand?

What happens

I haven't taken the side panel off yet. But I do see the cd rom light come on. It blinks a few times like you would expect it to. I am not sure about the hd light. One of the monitors I tried, the light in front would come on green when the computer started and then turn yellow like it was on standby.
The power supply is just like the one that was in before same brand and same watt. But yes it is used. I will open it up again and go over everything.

emachine problems video

I also picked up an emachinevideo is not working have tried two video cards in pci - still no screen.
It's kind of hard to disable what you can't see, all video involved is nvidia.

Are these machines really the garbage they are made out to be, or is there hope ??

I am sorry

I should have gotten back to this a long time ago. What I did was put some new RAM in and everything worked find. I guess when the PS went bad it did something to the old RAM. Again I am sorry I didn't post back sooner.

emachine

Do you here any beep codes? Sometimes you will hear a certain number of beeps that will tell you what the problem is. You just have to google the code. The number and such may tell you where to look.

no beep codes, all runs just no pic on either video, pci or onboard, I've ordered some analyzers, maybe they will help.
