OS: I want Linux but someone else bought me Windows XP on mine.

Cpu = 100%

I had a problem with my motherboard recently, my computer got shipped to dell. They updated the bios while it was there.

I dont remember if it was before or afterwards, but sometime in this time period, forgotit.exe,

(a windows program that lets you type things into it and close it, and it will be there when you start up like it's a notepad that saves the things even after the computer is turned off/etc.)

disappeared from my desktop toolbar where it usually always is. My computer was running extraordinarily slow, so I looked at my cpu processes and it said that forgotit.exe is taking up 100% of it. I closed the process, computer ran fast.

Now, it happens everytime I start up. But that is not the most of the problem, it also is starting to happen to random programs now!

I was wondering if anyone here knows WHY this would happen?

@ trumpet
Welcome to TSF
If your system is randomly running at 100% CPU usage, then in addition to linderman's suggestion, you might also want to run Adaware and Spybot as you may have some malware or spyware running in the background.
After running those and you still have trouble, you might want to follow the instructions to post a 'HiJakThis log. Post it in the hijackthis forum.

Keep us posted with your progress
