I recently updated the bios on my P4C800-E motherboard to 10.23. I was able to get everything running as it was before, except for the Ethernet Controller under WinXP. In Device Manager under the hardware tab, there is a yellow question mark on the "Other Devices" and "Ethernet Controller" listings. When I double click on the controller listing, it tells me;
"The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28) To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver." I tried to reinstall the drivers by inserting the WinXP disc, however, the wizard tells me it cannot find the drivers. There were no yellow question marks prior to updating the bios. Now normally I wouldn't care about the ethernet controller because I don't use it, I currently have my pokey old 56k dial up modem doing the internet chores. I am scheduled on January 25th, however, to have Verizon come out and install this new fiber optic internet, FIOS, and I think I'm gonna need that ethernet controller. Any help on getting this back up and running would be a great help. Thanks in advance! |

I would go to the asus site and download the ethernet driver and through the device manager update the driver witht he one you downloaded.
let us know how it goes http://support.asus.com/download/dow...800-E%20Deluxe Go to the driver tab and make sure the driver is the one for XP as there are a few diferent options there .
