couple mobo questions
Happy thansgiving all
In the past I have built 2 cusl2 (still working) some p4t-e and 4 P4c800-e deluxe but have not keep up with the new asus boards I have P4c800-e deluxe with p4 2.8,1gig mushkin ram which I have been putting a heavy load on with cs2 and other photo programs and lots of raw pictures to the point of it shuting down a couple of times. my questions are I would like to go to cpu 3.2 or ?? if mushkin is still best I want at least 2 gig of good stuff. The only asus mobo i see on newegg that I remember anything about is P4P800se any recommendations would be appreciated . Last one is there any way to use my current C drive with a new mother board without lose of programs?? thanks for any help guys |

I take it you want to keep you current video card?
Then the P4P800 would be a good choice. If you were looking to upgrade the video card also, you might look at the P5GDC. Mushkin ram is one of the best. As far as changing mother boards and keeping the old drive. Microsoft Motherboard replacement http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;824125 Happy Thanks Giving

hello:
did I miss something ???? you want to upgrade a P4C800-E dlx motherboard because its getting overloaded and shutting down ???? thats a really good board and most likely note your problem / I would however bet either your cooling or PSU needs improvement ?????? it easily handles a 3.2 or 3.4 prescott CPU regards joe

The P4P800 Are all good boards so I would look at the features for each mod and see if there are some you don't need on the upper lines. It really comes down to personal choice.

The P4C800-E is the better mobo, your not making any improvement going to the P4PXX. More than likely your memory or psu is in need of looking at like Linderman said. You may need to update your drivers, consider better cooling and/or a better psu. And if you haven't done so in a while blow out all the dust in the case. Mushkin is still making fabulous memory....run one memory module at a time and see if you still get the reboots, don't forget if you are the original purcheser of the Mushkin memory it has a lifetime warrenty....they are very good about it just call them up if you find a bad moudule, ask for Ian if he's in, though anyone there is quite helpful. Happy Thanksgiving
