P4P800-e deluxe
HI Folks,
I have a P4P800-e deluxe configured with 2 Sata drives on the intel raid controller as the primary boot devices. Also a Western Digital Pata as a slave device. When the enhance mode is set to Pata+Sata I get some weird behaviour. Example.....attaching a file to an email takes about 2 mins. Any drop down window that selects a file location takes about 2 mins to open. I've narrowed it down a tad thus far. If I set the enhanced mode to Sata only, everything seems ok and quick. XP pro is the OS. Any thoughts? Ta |

Enhanced mode set to SATA is the correct value for your setup. Why are you trying it at PATA+SATA? Didn't it work okay set to SATA? You also need to be a bit careful about Western Digital parallel hard disks. WDs have a tendency to hang for a while unless you set their jumpers just right. If the WD is the only drive on the cable then you should have no jumpers installed. You should only have it jumpered as master or slave if there is another drive on the same cable.
