Power Supply

I've got the ASUS P5Ad2-E Premium Wireless Edition motherboard.
The case I bought came with a 420W ATX 12V PSU. I thought that was fine. Unfourtunately, the PSU is equiped with a 20 pin MOBO connecter, not a 24 pin MOBO connecter like the P5AD2-E Premium needs

On page 2-33 (section 16. ATX power connectors) of the ASUS manual, it says:
Quote:
When using a 20-pin ATX 12V PSU with a 20-pin power plug, make sure that it can provide at least 15 A on the +12 V lead, and a minimum power of 350 W. Use of an ATX 12 V PSU PSU with a 20-pin power plug is not recommended.
So, how do I know if my PSU supplies 15+ Amps on the +12 V lead? Voltages per 20-pin plug is not listed on the side of the PSU, and it's a "Orion" brand unit (which I can't seem to find any info about.)
It's a NZXT Nemesis Elite black aluminum case, by the way.

So, um.. does anyone know if it's safe for me to turn it on with a 20-pin plug, or do I need a 20-to-24-pin adapter?

My System

Somewhere on the psu should be a sticker with a list of maximum amp ratings for each rail, or you can go to the mfg's website for the psu and look it up. I don't usually recommend using a 20 pin connector on a mobo that needs a 24 pin connector, nor do I like using the 20 to 24 pin adaptors (my personal prefrance) Chances are the psu that came with the case is a cheap-o, I would not risk all those valuable components on such a unit....I'd reccomend a PC Power & Cooling, Fortron, Sparkle, Enermax, and Antec-Neo (in order of best to good) unit of 420W or better.
From what I just read on the net, Most people like the case you have, and reported the psu to be adequate, although some did opt to swap the psu for some thing better, give the 20 to 24 pin adaptor a shot, worst case is you find the system unstable and have to change psu, best case, all works fine and nothing to worry about !
