My CPU and case fan do not run.. HELP!
Is this normal..? are they only supposed to run when the pc gets too hot? Im sure they were meant to run all the time..? My PSU fan runs when the pc is switched on. Erm, the cpu fan goes into the motherboard through 3 wires. and the other one is a 4 socket plug which plugs into one of the power supply things.. How can i fix this..
Cheers, matt x |

No its not normal for your CPU fan to not run.
What are the specs of your PC ? I also suggest to not use the PC untill you are able to figure out why the fan isnt running and get it fixed so your CPU doesnt get damaged.

Whats the true capacity of your power supply? What I mean by that is not whats written on the side like "400W" I mean what are the amperage (A) specs for each voltage on the side of the power supply for:
3.3V = ?A +5V =?A +12V =?A +5VSB =?A Quite a few people have had problems with those boards latelly...Asrock quality has gone down hill somewhat. MD

These are the minimum recommended in the AMD desktop builders guide circa 2002 for a certifed 300W power supply for a Socket 462 system.
+3.3V = 28A +5.0V = 30A +12.0V = 15A-18A +5VSB = 2A-2.5A Your capacity on your 12V line is too low even for a socket A system let alone a K8 based system. You may be able to just squeeze by with a very simple minimal build, but don't count on adding any drives to it. MD
