p5ad2 cannot detect WD2000JB
So one day I turn off my computer and go to class. I come back and turn it on and it says that it cannot detect my hard drive. So i disconnect my HD and bring it to a friend and hook it up and it doesnt work. So i buy a new hd the WD2000jb and hook it up, install the 3114 raid drivers, and boot from my xp cd to install windows to it. When i try it says "Setup could not detect any hard drives in your computer" i was wondering if i have to change some setup options to get it to work. when i enter setup and check the boot device priority it has the HD listed there so the computer detects it, but windows setup doesnt -- in my setup my IDE config is set to:
Configure SATA As -- Standard IDE Onboard IDE Operate mode -- Enhanced Enhanced mode support on -- S-ATA and the detect time is 35 secs. my jumper is on [ ::::| ] is that correct? thank you for helpin out a newbie in need! |
