random beeps

Hi,

I have the same problem.

Random beeps (from speaker) when I'm doing whatever in my Windows 2008 Server.

My computer is very new (I bought 2 days ago).

I have a i5 in a Gigabyte P55-UD4 with 6 GB.
1 TB of disk, ATI 4890 and the power supply is 600 W.

My OS is 32 bits, but I don't think this is the cause.

I also checked all my system (memory, GPU, Disk) and nothing seems wrong...

Re: Random beeping while in Windows 7

@ Kaibosh
Remove one pair of RAM and see if that helps. Filling the RAM slots on a Mobo is not advised and can cause Voltage issues. 4GB is more than sufficient.

@PanzerKeil
If your PC is a purchased prebuilt then it should be under warranty. Contact the retailer. Prebuilt PC's very often use low quality PSU's. A 4890 requires a 500W minimum PSU so you are a little underpowered even if it is a good quality unit.

Starting your thread is a better way to receive help.

Thanks Tyree.

Yes, my computer is under warranty but If I return my computer to them in order to be checked, I will be without computer for many days cause the problem is quite difficult to reproduce and solve (I think).

My PSU is a 600 W LCPower. I don't know if it a good quality PSU or not.

If I play games in high quality the noise behavior is similar as in GPU low-intense work, like writing a MS Word document, for example.

I wrote an email to Gigabyte support team and they gave me many instructions to see if it's a motherboard problem (take out memory, put gel in CPU,...). Many hard-work for me this weekend :(

That is one of several problems with buying a prebuilt PC and more so when purchased online. The entire PC has to be returned for warranty service and if they replace the PSU they will replace it with another low quality unit.
I have never heard of LG Power PSU's but what I can find about them is not good. Prebuilt PC's generally use low quality PSU's with big wattage numbers to save money and make the deal look better. It appears your PC falls into that category.

Re: random beeps

I will ask for a powerfull PSU to a friend and I will try it. Hope this will help me to identify the cause of those annoying noises.

Thanks for your answers.
