Trying to find a case for my Motherboard
Hello, I've recently started getting into computers and decided I wanted to upgrade my computer case. Right now I have an Optiplex GX280 slim, most who know it knows its about impossible to upgrade the graphics and power supply.
Computer Computer Brand Name: Dell System GX280 Motherboard Motherboard Model: DELL 0G7346 Motherboard Chipset: Intel 915G (Grantsdale-G) + ICH6 Motherboard Slots: 2xPCI, 1xPCI Express x1, 1xPCI Express x16 BIOS BIOS Manufacturer: Phoenix Technologies BIOS Date: 09/17/04 BIOS Version: A03 Super-IO/LPC Chip: Unknown Thats what I've got for what it is. I measure it out to be: 9" 3/4 by 10" 1/2, This is in inches The case I really would like is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811148029 But I'm not sure if my mobo would fit that or not due to it saying 12" by 10" ATX If someone could help me I would be greatful. Also, if this case doesn't work could someone please show me a case that would work and how you know it does? Thank you Josh |

Re: Trying to find a case for my Motherboard
No the Dell motherboards are proprietary the back I/O shield won't line up in standard cases, Add a mAtx G31 motherboard and 2 sticks of DDR2 you'll be ahead in the end.

Re: Trying to find a case for my Motherboard
The only case that will fit your motherboard correctly is a Dell case.
If you want to improvise you can probably cut the i/o opening to fit and may have drill mounting holes in the case mounting tray. But for the cost of a cheap G31 board upgrade I wouldn't think it's worth it. |

Re: Trying to find a case for my Motherboard
The Logisys case you linked to is made of very flimsy material and the included PSU is trash.
Follow wrench97's good advice on purchasing a Mobo, case and RAM.
