Motherboard's additional drives limit?
Hello all,
am considering setting up a PIV as a backup destination. all my users would get synced directly to specific folders on this machine.. needless to say space is of importance. where every user has an average 200 GB of data to b synced... so i was thinking of putting a couple of 1.5 TB hdd into this PIV to do the job where they will b raided in turn. but the prob is im not an expert when it comes to hardware... so im wondering if theres a limit to the amount of space/drives i can plug into a pc? if slots on motherboard is the only obstacle how about using a USB hub ? any suggestions? advice? |

Re: Motherboard's additional drives limit?
The OS can only assign 26 drive letters, so the is the only real limit. With that said, you will need adequate space inside the case to hold the drives. And of course enough ports to connect the drives. You will also need to ensure you have a power supply powerful enough to power all of the drives.
