[SOLVED] Firewire Add-On Card question???

Well, my question is...My mobo is a Foxconn G31mx-k. It does not have Firewire support on it (no headers). well, i need to use a firewire device (miniDV cam). i know there are add on cards for pci slot that will give me the ports needed. is that all i need in order to enable Firewire. I also wanted to add front panel firewire, but would need somewhere to connect it to. since the mobo does not have a way to do that, is there a card that will give me the ports in the back and give me someway to connect a front panel firewire port. any help would be great...Thanks

Re: Firewire Add-On Card question???

The way I understand the link I gave you is this mounts in the front of the computer in a 5.25 bay then you run a cable to the back and plug it into a firewire port that you will add with a pci card

Re: Firewire Add-On Card question???

Yes and you will be able to run a cable from the front panel hub out the back of the computer and plug it into the firewire pci card, not the best cabling method but will work
