[SOLVED] Tuniq 120 or Extreme?
Ok, so i bought a tuniq tower 120. I took a look and, well, just looks weird when on my motherboard. I have a m4a79 series motherboard from ASUS. I am using a phenom ii x4 (3.2ghz if it matters).
Anyways, none of the plates for the tuniq fit. As in they don't line up with screw holes (where the current plate is, i never took it off being they won't fit because they are to short or not wide enough). So i just slapped the tuniq on there and used the t120 clip. Well, i got it on but, should there be so much empty space around the processor? I goes from the base of the tuniq to nothing until it hits the original am2 (or 3?) processor holder. Basically, i just worries me a bit that it is so open, should it be like that? Also, when vertical, if i put much pressure on the top it starts to tilt downwards. I could make some copper wire/string/etc to hold that up, but, basically i am wondering if i should have gotten the tower 120 or if i really was supposed to get the tower 120 extreme. If i send the t120 back and get t120 extreme, will those plates fit my board. I am 98% sure this is my board: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131361 |

Re: Tuniq 120 or Extreme?
As long as the cooler is properly touching the top of the cpu, then it shouldn't be an issue. And many of those large coolers place a lot of strain on the motherboard. It's one of the drawbacks of using something that large and heavy.
