Can't get PCI Express Video Card to work
I just got a new motherboard for my computer. It is an Intel DG43GT. I have a PNY GeForce 9800GT 1024MB graphics card. If I boot the PC up without the video card everything goes fine. However if I plug the video card in I can't get a signal from onboard or the video card. I have tried BIOS defaults, and have turned it on to boot graphics through PCI express and all that. I have even changed rails on the PSU to make sure it wasn't a power issue. I have posted this in the Video Card forum as well. The video card was working great before my last motherboard died.

Re: Can't get PCI Express Video Card to work
Motherboard: Intel DG43GT Classic Series
PSU: Antec EarthWatts EA650 650W Continuous Power Graphics Card: PNY VCG981024GXEB-FLB GeForce 9800 GT Hybrid Power 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 RAM: Standard that came with computer. It is an Acer Aspire m5640 with 4 gigs of ddr2 800 240-pin ram. OS: Windows 7 RC build 7100 That's pretty much it. The graphics card was fine before I replaced the motherboard. It still powers on and the fans spin and the monitor recognizes that there is something plugged in, but while the video card is in nothing will display to the monitor through either the video card or the onboard graphics. I had this problem with a Gigabyte board as well but when I swapped it out for the board in my mom's computer it worked fine. So I'm pretty sure the video card is still working fine. |

Re: Can't get PCI Express Video Card to work
The BIOS may not be properly recognizing the video card. You could try updating the BIOS if a newer version is available.

Re: Can't get PCI Express Video Card to work
Remove the PCI GPU, boot the PC and Uninstall the Onboard Graphics drivers, shut down the PC, install the PCI GPU and boot the PC.
