computer wont boot....
Hello, im having a problem with my computer... The problem started when my computer went into sleep mode.. than when I tried to wake it up.. it never woke up.. so i tried to restart it and the damn thing comes on for a split second and dies..
I replaced the power supply, and it still does the same thing. I took out all the memory and disconnected everything from the board except the CPU and the power supply.. No IDE's or graphics cards are connected. Is there any way that I can test the CPU to make sure that it is not fried? At this point I have no idea what steps to take next. Anyone have any suggestions, besides taking it to a computer repair shop? Thanks! |

Re: computer wont boot....
i know its not the monitor.. usually there is a BEEP when the computer starts... but there is no BEEP.. it just runs.. fans and everything but no output.. What would keep it to start into BIOS?
I think it may either be the CPU or the mobo... is there any way to test these independently? I dont have any other machines laying around to test them on either.. :( you think if i took it in to a computer shop they would test it for me? Last edited by ericosuave; 10-28-2009 at 02:53 PM. |

Remember to both short the pins and remove the battery itself. That covers both ways to reset it.
