Re: Baffled -CPU-Motherboard-Fans

I agree with you on intel being the strongest board . The processor in this machine that died, still works and is 6 years old . Honestly, I am extremely pleased with Intel products .

The i5/i7 1156 boards/CPU's are faster but still new and not as stable as I like yet.

Re: Baffled -CPU-Motherboard-Fans

Not sure if this is what you meant : intel r 83 pentium r 4 3.0 ghz/1M/800 SL7KK COSTA RICA 34J8A545

other number 35415 m696

Its a Intel (R) Pentium (R) 4 processor with hyper threading technology. On processor it has 3.0 GHZ/1M/800 SL7KK COSTA RICA 34J8A545
there was also another number 35415 m696 . This number appeared to be a "sticker " on the green border of the processor. There was another number 631 I believe . I'm not to "savy" on computers much, but I try.

This processor is the processor I bought just 2 months after hurricane ivan hit here in Pensacola. It's out lasted 4 intel boards to date now .

Re: Baffled -CPU-Motherboard-Fans

SL7KK is the CPU spec if you want to keep the same CPU for now and be able to upgrade to a newer one later I'll look for a board that will accept it and a C2D/Q but you'll have to update the ram to DDR2.

Re: Baffled -CPU-Motherboard-Fans

There are 2 ways to go here you could replace it with the same board> http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...nnorswebguidec
Or a newer board> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128396
Which will also require this ram > http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145238
Yea ram prices are going up.

Re: Baffled -CPU-Motherboard-Fans

Thank you so much for helping me find a board for the current processor I have. I'd be totaly building a completely new machine from case to what goes inside if the processor had died this time.

Yet it refuses to . However being I love the Intel board D915gag I have decided to go with it again. I am big gamer and literally live to game 24/7 . I am going to build a "back up" machine and go with the board and memory you linked and get a new processor for the other board as well as the ram.

I'm not worried about price so sky is the limit when it comes to my machines and gaming . :) Again. I really appreciate your help, and time looking into this for me .

Sincerely,

Anne

Re: Baffled -CPU-Motherboard-Fans

If you want to go all out on the new PC I would use a P45 board and a E8500 or Q9550 CPU.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128372
Here are the CPU's in order from good to best.

Yes. I got the ddr2 memory as well. I'm going to have my tower checked out to make sure fans are installed in it properly, and if not, have them corrected . Then back to playing world of warcraft ! =:)

I will let you know though how it all turns out .
