PC restarts randomly/freezes

hey guys, I would greatly appreciate your help. So my computer is one I built like 4 years ago and almost a year ago, it started randomly restarting. It seems to happen more when I am gaming but since I reformatted my computer and re-installed XP it has been freezing randomly as well. I am guessing maybe an overheating issue. I would really appreciate any help. thanks

Asus motherboard a7V600 I believe, AMD Athlon 3000 2.1 Ghz, 2 Gigs of Kingston Ram, Nvidia 6600 GT. I actually dont know what my supply unit is. I guess that could be a possible problem

Also, when I installed Windows 7 pro it would restart randomly but also give me the blue screen of death occasionally. I cant remember what it said. I now re-installed XP

Open the case and look at the PSU. It should have a label with the Brand Name & Model Number.

It is a thermaltake Purepower Model #HPC-420-102DF. I also have an aftermarket CPU fan as well.

Check your temps and Voltages in the Bios.
When you get a BSOD, write down the Error Codes and post them.
