P4P800 SE RAID Problem

I just got the se board used. It came with 1 WD 120GB SATA drive. It has a
bare XP install I want to format. I read on Intel's IAA manual for RAID
Migration I can set up RAID on one drive for now, and add another drive
later. So I went to BIOS as you would, enabled RAID and the RAID Rom,
rebooted, didn't get the RAID prompt for Ctrl-I. I unplugged the PC, tried
again no go. I have the BIOS update 1005.

Is having XP on this drive preventing RAID the prompt? I can't see that. Other
than that, I am at a loss unless I need 2 SATA drives plugged in to get the Control-I prompt...for which no local PC store has an OEM WD 120 in stock at the moment.

Thanks

Raid issue

As far as I know there is a newer bios including some modifications in raid config. Download it (1019)
On the other hand you can try to install the windows as "raid ready" with one drive and migrate it later to two drives from iaa software under windows XP. U can find a tutorial on this in asus site.
I have one sata drive and ı could not enter ctrl i bios too. According to asus it is normal if you have just one drive installed...

referral

It may be frowned upon to refer people to other forums buy I'm trying to be helpful! At techsupportforum there's a moderator named clintfan. In detail (extreme detail!) he has written guides for Intel raid and Intel "raid ready" installation. These guides are priceless much like Mr. Steveo's guide to installing XP is priceless. I've successfully installed Intel raid thanks to these guides. The Asus manual is quite vague. The "raid ready" procedure is far more troublesome and, in my opinion, not worth it. Read them if you wish but prepare for a long read.
