Newbie to SATA drive - please help
i just got all the parts installed and trying to installing OS (winxp) on my 120gb SATA Maxtor, but when screen boot up i got this message
"No drive attached to Fasttrack controller, the BIOS is not installed" i'm plugging the sata cable to SATA 1 connector on my board also has teh SATA_RAID 1 & 2 i'm not sure which connector i should plug to. thanks alot ![]() BTW my board is ASUS P4C800-E DELUXE UPDATE: ive turn the onboard promise controller to DISABLE and the error message disappeared but can't install OS "Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer" Last edited by DNSMatrix; 02-18-2005 at 05:29 PM. |

You need to boot with the Maxblaster disk that came with the drive. Partition and format the drive and then it will be recognized and allow you to load the OS. If you bought the oem drive, download the software to a bootable cd and follow the steps above....good luck.
