Motherboard not recognizing memory - HELP!!!!
Help! I have a toshiba 2715xdvd laptop (P3 500mhz) that has 64mb ram built in and an extra 128mb ram added (one slot - 192 mb total)
Recently, the computer stopped recognizing the 128 module (and obviously is running very slow now).. I initially thought the 128 simply blew out however I have since bought a new one which it does not recognize either. My suspicions is that the port or the motherboard is bad/going bad however I don't know how to tell. The machine does not have any warrenty left and its probably not worth taking it in to get serviced. Is there any simple way I can test the motherboard or the memory to see if that it really the problem? Also, has anyone else experienced similiar problems or think it could be something else? I upgraded the bios figuring it couldn't hurt but that did not help either. Any suggestions or ideas would be enormously appreciated!! Thank you so much! Morris |
