Hi All,
My Desktop Computer's configuration is (AMD Athlon- 64 bit, MSI-M/b, RAM-512MB, Windows Xp).
when I turned on it after few second it shown that "windows can not boot some files are missing". I repaired it with bootable win Xp CD. after this It automatic restarting in loop.
I have formated the whole HD and reinstall a fresh copy of windows Xp successfully.when I format the HD and reinstall a fresh copy of windows Xp It runs successfully once. But it again displaying
1. files are missing (shows different file name at different time).
2. Again i repaired the Win Xp but it restarting in loop.
when I press the power button the followings happens:
1. displaying BIOS
2. appearing light blue screen for 2 minutes.
3. appear Windows Xp booting progress
4. Restart automatically

What I have done is given here under:
1. Formated the HD 5 times
2. Cleared the BIOS several times
3. Changed the RAM

But the problem is remains the same each time.
can anybody please help me what is the problem? is this problem with mother board? But sometimes it runs successfully after installation of a fresh copy of Win Xp.

Re: Problem with Desktop Computer

Formatting through windows doesn't get rid of data, just marks the sectors available and recreates the file system. Since you are trying to format, try using killdisk and get the drive back to factory condition, then try the windows format and install. When you use killdisk, make sure the only drive connected is the one you want to scrub. download the bootable iso image file and create a bootable cd, then boot from the cd and run the program that way. It does take quite some time, depending on the size of the drive, as it writes zeros to all sectors.

edit - I don't know how many sticks of ram you are using, but try the install with one stick only.

I have observed the computer for last two days. when I install a fresh copy of windows it runs but when I turn-off and unplug the power cord and again connect the power cord and turn-on the computer it shows some files are missing.and when I restart the computer it shows other file is missing. I have tried this 3 times and found same condition. kindly help me to find out what is the exact problem? I appreciate it........

Re: Problem with Desktop Computer

is ur installer genuine??? maybe theres a virus attached to that installer... thats why if fresh install, ur doing fine... after restart, then problem comes... if you have genuine or sure that its virus free, then find a software for HD repair.. i suspect ur HD has a bad sector...

Re: Problem with Desktop Computer

I am using one stick of RAM 256MB and installing windows with a Genuine Xp CD. I would like to inform you one thing more that when I install windows the following occurs :

1. Press any key to boot from CD
2. Dark blue screen for 1 minute
3. Setup is checking Hardware configuration
4. Dark blue screen for 1 minute
5. Windows Xp Setup with normal Blue screen (but it does not load any file for 1 minute)

I mean these process goes very slow and remains the same with an other HDD.

Thanking you.
