floppy diskette seek failure
Hi everyone i have problem with my pc it won't boot up . When i start it up it says floppy diskette seek failure strike f1 key to continue , f2 key to run the setup utility. When i hit f1 it says loading PBR for Descriptor2... done and nothing happens. I am not sure happened its been having problems for a little while. i dont have lot of info about my pc but it's a dell xps 400 pentium D processor dual core , windows xp . i am not sure how to get the rest of the info since it won't boot up please help me in any way that you can. thanks

Try going into bios and see if theres a option to disable floppy, and
then look for disable floppy seek. Not familiar with options in bios for dells.. You could also check and make sure that the floppy is connected properly, and if it is you could just replace the floppy drive... Bad floppy drive more than likely, on older machines floppy drive was a must...floppy no work, pc no boot.

Go into bios, and do what I mentioned in prior post. If that doesnt
work, find out what type/brand of harddrive you have. Go to makers website, download and run the diagnostic tool. Might be that the harddrive is going bad, or gone bad and bios is trying to find something else to boot from. Or a corrupt boot sector on the drive...
