[SOLVED] During boot, no BIOS options
new rig, everything running smoothly for a week, until today...computer acted as if it was going to shut down, but went into a stand-by-like mode where i could do nothing.
restarted, sounded like a normal boot, but there was no Republic of Gamers screen with the option to enter BIOS. monitor blinked red as if there was no signal, then after a bit, the chimes for vista sounded and the screen displayed the login page for vista. tried to reboot and press delete to get into BIOS, but still no display until a few minutes later when the login page popped up. 1. why is there no BIOS options or any screens usually seen before boot? 2. what can i do to resolve this? Very much appreciated, Threfty ASUS Rampage Extreme Core i7 940 Corsair Dominator DDR3 (3x2gb) GTX 280 SSC Ultra X3 1000W PSU WD VelociRaptors 150gb in RAID 0 Seagate 1tb slave drive LG BluRay/LiteOn DVD optical drives |

Re: During boot, no BIOS options
try a cmos reset
cmos reset turn the computer off remove the power lead from the back take the side off remove the cmos battery move the cmos jumper from pins 1 and 2 to pin 2 and 3 and the back to pins 1 and 2 reinsert the battery put the side on replug in the power lead boot the computer there can be 2 solder points you touch with a screwdriver 2 pins you touch with a screwdriver or use a jumper a cmos clear switch or button there will be a diagram and instructions in your manual check for a bios update
