Faulty Graphics?

Hi, recently bought a Radeon x1800 gto PCI-E card second hand off ebay and cannot get it to boot the PC, need to find out if the card is faulty or not compatable with my system. The guy i bought it off says it was working, and as he has a very good feedback rating, ive no reason to not believe him.

System- Wolfdale 1333 dual core M/b
Intel Pentium D CPU- 3000mhz
1 gig ddr2 ram
500 W PSU.

ps- system works fine with the old PCI_E card

All i get off the post is 2 beeps-then 8 beeps and then a single beep.

I have thought about the psu- but it says itl work fine at 450 W.

I have no other system to test the card, and will take it to local PC shop for testing if need be, just wondered if you guys have any ideas before i do.

Thankyou in advance.
