Stop_Check Error
I think I posted in the wrong forum last time. I am getting this error with the BSoD
STOP: 0x0000009c (0x00000004, 0x8054D5F0, 0xF2000000, 0x00070F0F) It typically occurs when I am downloading or running something graphic intense. But the odd thing is, during the writing of my entire music library (30gig) to the freshly installed OS it didn't have one problem. So, system specs -
Anything I missed, let me know and I will promptly update. As I said with the other thread I posted, I am a computer geek, but only in the terms of the ADOBE suite lol. So any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Re: Stop_Check Error
Standard power supply that came with the system is 300 watts.
Also as far as temps, I cleaned it all out, so it says I'm running in the 100-110 degree range in the bios. Sorry it took so long to reply, hectic holidays :) and a merry xmas to you man. EDIT: As far as graphic intense, this is starting to seem random. As I recently began to play Matrix Online again. I will blue screen at random it seems while playing it. So I doubt it is RAM just because of that - but I may be wrong? Typically it just seems to be random completely. Playing music - Sometimes Games - Sometimes Graphic Design (Adobe CS4) - Barley ever Download - Large ones, if I leave the download menu up showing the download completion - sometimes... Re: Stop_Check Error
Your underpowered. To run a pci-e video card you need at least
26amps on the 12volt rail/rails. Your running a generic 300watt psu, not a real barn burner..

Alright, I may just have a bigger power supply sitting around from my last invention!!! I'll keep this updated as i go scrounging around!
Hmmm... I have a 400watt power supply Is that sufficient? Errr, the power supply i have is 4 pins short, and I am doubting that will work. So, my question is will this one work? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1203815240920 And is this a guarantee to fix the blue screening? Being the holidays, I really don't have the money to burn... it appears it has become a lost cause. To see if it was a power deficiency, I removed the graphics card. Apparently, I cannot even get past the boot even into safe mode. So, I guess that's it and time to buy a new one... Last edited by dai; 12-16-2008 at 06:25 PM. |

Re: Stop_Check Error
Ok, I got the system up and running again. Put the Graphics Card back in - and removed the dial up modem card. Went right on through and booted fine... Haven't tried to get an error, as I need to get my website up and running.
So the power supply is a guaranteed fix? Last edited by Chainer; 12-17-2008 at 05:59 AM. |

Geh... I guess I would be better off saving my money to get a new tower with more RAM, HD Space, and 64bit...
Ok, well, I tried to run it without the graphics card (As it came, stock) and I am still getting the same error... Any ideas? Last edited by dai; 12-24-2008 at 07:47 AM. |

No driver errors/conflicts or anything.
Downloaded WD's lifeguard. Running a disk check - Currently verifying indexes. Disk Check ran fine, No errors that I saw. Currently running memtest and it seems to be going well. (I had seen that that was asked for on a similar thread) WALL TIME: 0:50:XX CACHED: 2047M RsvdMem: 276M Pass: 1 Errors: 0 03% Pass Update on Memtest WALL TIME: 2:16:XX CACHED: 2047M RsvdMem: 276M Pass: 2 Errors: 0 72% Pass Is that long enough to verify RAM is OK? Forgive me, but what is and where do I find my mini dump files?
EDIT: Looked it up on microsoft - I assume I have to install the debugger tool package as it looks. So I'm doing that now. Bear with me on this one, it is a little more than I am used too - So step by step would be great. Every time I try to install the debugger package I blue screen. So, I guess that won't work. I've also been trying to find out where the dumpchk.exe files are (using searches) but I can't seem to come across it. Last edited by dai; 12-24-2008 at 07:49 AM. |

I can't seem to find that folder or file...
I got the debug utility installed tho... =/ this is not going well, lol. I downloaded support tools, and made the /minidump folder. However, I am not seeing any crash reports being generated. Help please. I'm currently chatting with Microsoft Tech support trying to see what they can do for me. Last edited by dai; 12-24-2008 at 07:46 AM. |
