CD boot in BIOS
I'm trying to get my system to boot from the CD drive. There are two CD drives on the system: Mitsumi CD-ROM FX4821T!A, and a read/write drive Mitsumi CR-48X9TE. The latter is the E drive, and the ROM is the F drive.
In BIOS, ATAPI CD-ROM Drive is the first boot device. There are no other choices for CD devices. But with a bootable CD-R disk in the drive (and I've tried both drives), it still goes right to WinXP. The drive spins up at boot, but that's all. Both drives are working properly. PhoenixBIOS 4.0 Release 6.0 version 4W4SB0X0.15A.0017.P12 I can't find any other options to adjust the boot order. Is there anything else I should try to se if it's working properly? To my best knowledge, the CD is a properly-made boot disk. |

Re: CD boot in BIOS
Are you getting a," Press any key to boot into the cd"? Have you ever used this Xp cd to install before? If not download NLITE and slipstream it.
It might be worth trying with one drive.i.e. pull the power connector off the other. |
