Shut Down my desktop PC while Restart & Can not boot from HDD

• Can not boot from HDD while the HDD is loaded with OS properly & tested OK in another PC
• Shut Down my desktop PC while Restart during install OS

Thus cann't install any Microsoft OS. While restart after copying files during install, the PC shuts down. If Start PC with power swith on & do not select CD as boot media message comes:
“Reboot & Select proper Boot Device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot Device & press a key”
If Start PC with power swith on & select CD as boot media then again a fresh installation begins.

I insatll the Win XP sp2 in the HDD from another PC without installing drivers specific to that PC. It installed & works OK in that system. But when I mount this HDD in my PC it does not boot from HDD & raise same error.

While trying to install even Redhat 9/Fedora Core 5 total installation is over uninterruptedly. While reboot, it reboots but the PC cann’t start with newly installed Linux. Instead message comes:
“Reboot & Select proper Boot Device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot Device & press a key”

I tried interchanging the RAM & HDD
I tried in changing HDD as first boot device;but all in vain
I used the HDD in another system; it works fine.

Re: Shut Down my desktop PC while Restart & Can not boot from HDD

The CPU is running too warm even for a P4, 67.7c is as high as it will run before it should shut down did you get these temps from the Bios?

Have you tried using different data cables on the hard drive?
Is it Sata or IDE?
