[SOLVED] Updated Bios and P4 Processor

It is done, I've updated the Intel D865PERL bios to P21 and changed the processor to P4 3.20 from P4 2.60.

Colud not have done this without the help of Mr. Linderman moderator of this section of the forum

The bios download did come with password protection which had to be disabled by changing the jumpers from 1-2 to 2-3, make the change, save it and then change the jumper back for a normal bootup.

The cooling fan was tricky to remove and a small screwdriver was needed to lightly pry out the retaing tabs on each corner allowing it to be lifted out.

I know that I said I was going to wait until Monday but absolutely couldn't Thanks to all and expecially Mr Linderman. What a great site. Ralph

Re: Updated Bios and P4 Processor

So far I do like the upgrade. I haven't noticed a huge difference but do see a conservative boost in how the pc opens programs. I'll be finishing up with Far Cry next week so we'll see how the cpu handles that and then when I load Far Cry 2 we'll really put it to work.
