I've already updated my bios from the laptops manufactures' website, and it's still saying the processor model is unknown, why and how do i get it to recognize it? I updated my processer from a AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-50 to a TL-66, and im using an Everex Stepnote XT5000T.

can you find a cpu support list for your laptop model number ????? usually your situtation is caused by a cpu the bios is not familiar with ........ alot of times that doesnt matter it will still run just as well......... you can check that aspect by downloading the freeware proggie cpu-z check to see if the cpu speed is what it is suppose to be ?

you may have to clear your bios ....... in order for the bios to reset itself ...... remove the laptop battery and power cord and cmos battery for 5 minutes ........ with everything removed hit the power button on the laptop a couple of times to use up any residual juice in the capicators of the motherboard

In the bios it says its version 1.1D because I updated it from 1.1A, i'll try clearing the CMOS....how do I clear it?

i looked in my labtop and I can't find the CMOS battery, so any other ways besides that?

have a look in the bay where the memory sticks are sometimes its there .............

other than that ..... google searching :(

I dont think its the bios version thats your woes ....... the CMOS needs to be reset

try reading thru this ....... see if there are any bios reset options I only have dial-up (live in the woods) would take me forever to DL
