Computer Starts, but Won't Start
I've combed the net trying to see if anyone else has had the exactly problem I have, and either my searching's crappy, or I just haven't found anything.
Basically it's like this - My computer used to start up just fine. Then it progressed to not starting up fully. I would turn off/unplug the PSU for half a day to a day and plug it back in to find it working again. I have no idea why, but so far that's working, but I dont know anymore.. What exactly has been happening? Well, when I try to power on my PC, it hangs immediately. The "working" light on the case remains solid, and the CD-ROM drive's light also stays solid. It doesn't go anywhere, nor does anything come on my monitor. Upon power on, my monitor turns on, says no signal, then goes into power save. What can possibly be making my system hang IMMEDIATELY out of nowhere? This only started a few weeks ago. Now 1 out of 2 times I turn off my computer, this happens again. I tried switching out the RAM and that doesn't seem to be the problem. I also saw elsewhere that taking out the CMOS for a few works, but it didn't for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Computer Starts, but Won't Start
Sorry to double post, but the Edit button has gone missing. -_-
I just wanted to add that the all the fans/fan lights run normal as well when I power it on. It sounds as if it's working, but nothing progresses at all. :/ |

Re: Computer Starts, but Won't Start
:(
What I mean by "hangs immediately" is that I don't even get that far, lol. It turns on, and that's it basically. No monitor, no loading whatsoever = no getting to Bios screen. Thanks though. :\ |

Re: Computer Starts, but Won't Start
Again, I can't get to the Bios, but I guess I could try the cmos reset. :/

Re: Computer Starts, but Won't Start
+12V1 max: 10A, min: 1.0A
+12V2 max: 13A, min: 1.0A Sorry if that's not what you wanted. This is Antec's "Basiq Power" btw. Edit: Ok, so it's randomly working again, like always, after having it unplugged for the longest time. Is there anyway I can keep this from happening? It's bound to happen the next time I shut down. Re: Computer Starts, but Won't Start
see if you can borrow another psu to try in it
disconnect the cd drive and see if it boots
