Roll Eyes Biostar P4M900-M4 IDE Problems

Biostar P4M900-M4

I have been trying for 6 days to setup a machine with the above board. My problem is that it will not propery recognize IDE devices. I have yet to get a copy of Windows XP pro to install without it asking for files that I can see are on the cd. The one time I did finally get it to almost complete, but gave numerous errors before finalization. I have tried every known IDE setting on the setup and here are the parts I have replaced at least 6 times to the same results so I now think it has to either be a setting I am missing or the board itself. Parts I have replaced and all are new no used parts as I am starting with the bare
essentials with nothing in any slot except for memory to avoid conflicts. Parts tried: ribbon cables (6) - memory (6 dimms) cd drive at least 8 from cd to dvd - hard drives (5)- from 80 gb ata to 320 gb ata - no sata in stock - 4 different p4 processors - power supplys 3 - all 400 watts - power cords - 5 as you see I have tried every part replacement at least 3 times and all give the same result. I really like the board as I have a lot of IDE drives to use and the only reason I chose this is because of that feature and pci express as well...........Please Help!

The reply from tech support was to check the memory and no idea how that is connected to ide, but replaced it 3 times anyway and have not heard a word from them since.

Specs:

478 socket Intel 2.6 Pentium 4
Kingston 667 2GB memory
Seagate 250 GB ATA
400 Watt Power Supply
