P5AD2 Premium slow boot

I have the P5AD2 Premium i wont to setup up 2 HDD on to the primary IDE and have 2 cd-roms on the primary raid but boot up is slow when it comes to the raid. then i switch them around it was quicker but now it cant boot up for the HDD

1 X P5AD2 Premium
1 X 3.6GHZ
2 X 512MB RAM
1 X 160GB WD
1 X 120GB Seagate
2 X DVD-Rom

Is this even possible? I always thought RAID were for HDD's. Or do you mean your Secondary IDE channel?

there no second IDE i work once the driver are installed in window but when it come to scan the raid it slow
