Processor XP2100 With Asus A7V8X Help
Ok here is the deal I fried a XP2100 in my Asus board (A7V8X) So i got off newegg a XP2200 and a XP 2600.
When I put the XP2100 in (the one i think is dead) It turns on for 2-3 seconds and then shuts off. I remove the processor and I hear "no CPU Detected". I put it back in, same thing. I test the XP2100 in an Abit KR7, no beep codes and no green light on monitor. Test XP2100 in Abit KT7-333 same as the other Abit. Test XP2100 in a Soyo Dragon Ultra... same. So i put in the new XP2200 in to the Asus, same result, nothing, remove then Voice saying no CPU. Both abits nothing and the soyo... nothing. So i bust out the XP2600... It works in the KR7, it works in the Soyo. I tested the Abit KT7-333 and i just get on really long beep code. I am scared to test it in the Asus because it was the first one i tested the XP2200 in and the one i blew up the 2100 in. Should i test the 2600 in the Asus? and hope i got a DOA on the 2200? Or should i give up on the Asus which is my favorite board outta all four of my collection. Plus in the KT7-333 i thought that one long beep code was for the processor. But i retested it in the Soyo and the XP2600 still works. So what do you all think i should do? I just want a second opinion or hopefully someone else can give some good advice. How did i burn out the processor? Well i redid my H2O cooling system... yah, it leaked cuz i was a freakin' idiot and didn't pressure test it before i put it in my case. There was no Pwr to the mobo though. Lucky that nothing else was in the case... (GeForce FX5700) Let me know what you all think... Last edited by chadderbox4 : 12-08-2004 at 09:18 PM. |
