Pc displaying blue, red, green or pink screen!!
Please help me, i just got a pc from my cousin which is giving different type colour of display and then freeze up. It mostly happen as soon as try to connect to the internet r when i am playing a audio cd. sometime it happen also when i am opening a file. I a nood to pc! System is winxp

Someone please answer me. I can leave the pc turn on for many hour without touching and it would'nt crash, but as soon as i begin to use it, pc crash with a blue, red, green or pink screen. And if i hit the internet explorer cpu usage reach 100% and crash with geen screen. Please help

When the color change occurs, can you still see all the windows and text and everything on the screen, or does the color just wash over everything, so the color is the only thing showing?
If you can still see things, and it just changes to various shades of the color, that can be caused by the video card failing to send red, green, or blue signals to the monitor. If it only happens along with a freeze, I am reasonably certain that you have a bad motherboard and/or video card. If you just got the computer and don't have much of your own data on there, you can try wiping the hard drive and reinstalling windows. |

Thank u so much for your reply! But the screen does not changes, it just crash with a still colour, one of the colour i mention. And when it crash i can only see the colour, no text just just a colour staring at me and i cant do nothing more than rest it. HD have already been reinstall with winxp. Any more idea u can give me?

Thanks, but i dont have any video card r power supply! My friend has a pc, mayb he's willing to help me check my power supply and video card with his pc. I will keep u updated. Thanks

I could'nt get to my friend as yet because he is busy! But i open my pc and find that i have only one card attached on the mother board, and i belive it's the sound card, bcause my audio jack connect on it. Is my pc have no video card? R is it built in? I dont understand. Thank u Jtsou and Falconoffury for all the help.

try unplugging and replugging your monitor cable. Had same issue a while back, turned out the cable had slightly disconnected

Yes you can try another graphics card in one of the slots but the new card has to match the slot in question. This will help tell you if indeed it is a problem with your onboard graphics.
