Motherboard Powers Up For A Few Seconds Then It Quits

My MB will begin to power up for about 3 – 4 seconds and it then quits.
Here’s what I have tried:
• I’ve verified the power supply works by jumpering the green wire to a black wire which powers the power supply fan
• I’ve disconnected all peripherals except for one case fan
• I’ve pulled the MB out of the case and set it on cardboard to ensure there are no shorts
• I’ve cleared the CMOS
• I’ve tried to power up the MB by installing one stick of mem and/or with the video card

What else could I try to find the problem?
The MB is a Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6.

Thank you

Yes, the 4 prong ping near the CPU is connected.

Sounds like you have done most of it, but click the Bench Test link in my signature to see if there is anything that helps
