New CPU+Mobo problem , Blank Screen (no signal) and no beep

So my friend bought a new CPU and Motherboard , as he replaced old parts with new , PC stopped working , now PC will start , all fans will spin , but here is no beep on start & monitor has no signal (just black screen).

New specs are following :
ASUS P5K P35/ICH9
INTEL Core 2 Duo E4600 (2,4 GHz, 2MB L2 cache....)
ATI x1950Pro 256 MB 256 BIT
2x 1GB ram (good ram + kingston) 667 MHz
480W Power Supply & 350W Fortron (he tried both , no change)
160 GB ATA HDD

He tried resetting CMOS , didnt help , also he rebuilded it again , no change... When he use old CPU + MOBO PC is working again. So it isnt monitor problem...

I tried all i could, my friend also did so any help is appreciated.

Have you tried the video card and memory in a different mobo?

Did it ever work, or is this just a new problem?
Ensure the motherboard battery is good and inserted properly, and also ensure all connections are properly made. Are you giving the processor and video card extra power via 6-pin PCIe and 4-pin ATX connectors?
Also check that any jumpers are in their correct positions.

It never worked, and yep 6pin PCIe and 4pin ATX are connected. All jumpers are in default position according to manual. Battery is inserted properly.

Re: New CPU+Mobo problem , Blank Screen (no signal) and no beep

Are you trying to use a new motherboard and CPU with an old hard drive with an OS on it? Simply will not work most of the time because of the old motherboard chipset drivers on there. I am however, concerned there is no post beep.

Try one stick of ram only, then try the other. With that motherboard, are you sure that you have snapped down the CPU clear in? Sometimes one leg can fool you and not be snapped clear down. The CPU/Heatsink have to be snapped down very tight for it to post. Have you made sure you have the +12 molex plugged in to this board?

If all else fails:

Bench Test Your System

Yep he has hdd with old winXP and drivers in PC (but swapping mobo and cpu worked for me in past without formatting driver or even reinstalling OS). CPU/Heatsink is mounted correctly. And all (needed)cables are plugged in.

So ill try that link....

Re: New CPU+Mobo problem , Blank Screen (no signal) and no beep

Some times you can swap them, but more often you have to do either a repair install or a new install to have them work. Like I mentioned, the thing that bothers me is that you can't get by post which you should, regardless of that issue. When you take all ram out, does it beep like crazy?????

No beep with no memory, look for a bad motherboard a good bit of the time.

Hi, have tried yet to boot with minimal components? Just the processor, minimum memory and video card to see if you can at least get a display and into BIOS.
