[SOLVED] CPU to hot

hi guys this is my first post hope you can help

i have a gigabyte GA-7N400 pro2 rev2 motherboard running a amd athlon 2200+ 1.8ghz and ive been having problems cooling down my cpu it always reads 52 degres C in the bios i downloaded pc wizard and the reading i got was 36 degres C so i downloaded easy tunes and the same reading as the bios 52 degres. i have a stock heatsink and fan which i cleaned today to see if it was a dust build up but still the same i have 2 80mm fans at the back that exhaust and 1 80mm fan on the side that intakes they is slighty warm air coming from the back fans so i dont think it is a fan resistence problem
any help would be grately appreciated thanks guys

Re: CPU to hot

Check the bios for the best reading on those temps since they don't agree. Report back with results.

Re: CPU to hot

Hey mate,
according to what I saw in your post, you are underpowered...
This means that you need better PSU because one that you have is dieing slowly...
Did you clean your PSU from dust???
Better provide us with full system specifications...
Also, if you can, borrow PSu from a friend and try it on your PC...
It is also advisable to replace thermal paste on processor with new one. But make sure,
you remove old one with alcohol...
Hope this will help you mate...

Re: CPU to hot

I agree with vladimirb in that the first step would be to change your thermal paste and see what happens.

Re: CPU to hot

Hey mate,
I could suggest you to buy some 550+W PSU...
To find PSU that will best fit your needs, see this:

You will find there what is best for you...
