Looking for a new motherboard to revive the dead
No, I don't need a necromancer mobo ;)
However, I do need a replacement for my socket 939 Epox EP-9NDA3J board, since I can't find one anywhere. Could someone help me find a motherboard of equal specifications or better, for sale anywhere online? Preferably a reliable retailer :P Here is the specs of my dead motherboard: http://www.epox.com/USA/product.asp?id=EP-9NDA3J Thanks for any help in advance :) |

Re: Looking for a new motherboard to revive the dead
I'm curious about this board here.
Can you compare the specs to the Epox board and tell me the differences? Also, is there a difference between a 10/100 ethernet card and a 10/100/1000? http://cgi.ebay.com/ASUS-AMD-Socket-...ayphotohosting |

Re: Looking for a new motherboard to revive the dead
that board certainly looks ok .........the nforce3 is a slightly better performance chipset but the VIA will certainly be ok
to summarize I would be willing to pay $15.00 more for the nforce3

If you're talking about the MSI K8 Neo or whatever, it's a POS, I originally tried to replace it with one of those and it wouldn't even detect my SATA drive ![]() nforce3 is better than nforce4, are you sure? Or are you just talking about that particular board? What about the ethernet device on that nforce4 board? Is the 10/100 a short hand way of saying 10/100/1000mbps? |

Re: Looking for a new motherboard to revive the dead
Okay, I found a nice ASrock board, and I think it was the one you were talking about.
http://cgi.ebay.com/AMD-ATHLON-64-X2...hippingPayment Is this the better of the lot? (The Gigabyte and Asus) |

6-8Mbps thus faster than 100Mbps? Are you sure? lol. The 1000Mbps is indeed faster and better than the 100 Mbps one, but you woudn't notice a speed difference if yoou directly connect a modem to them because the internet will run up to 6-8Mbps where's the slower 100Mps is still way faster than the internet. You would only notice a difference on a LAN for sharing files etc and the other devices like switches and routers would also have to have 1000Mbps ports. Hope that cleared it up. ![]()
