Are the BIOS Temp Reads Reliable?
I have an EVGA 680i mobo, and recently my pc has been shutting down randomly. Ive went to the bios, and looked at the temps, the CPU reads EXTREMELY high. 102C. Intel Thermal Analysis reads 50C. So, is the BIOS Info reliable?

Re: Are the BIOS Temp Reads Reliable?
Hi,
You may have faulty Sensors, but thats rare. 102C is a crazy reading, but your processor WILL shut-down if too hot. Have a look at this...... Power Supply Information and Selection 450W seems a bit weak for the rest of your components, and you'd need a healthy Amperage on the +12v Rail/s for that processor and video card combination.

Re: Are the BIOS Temp Reads Reliable?
I agree, 450 is on the weak side of a 8800 card, especially since it's not a toughpower.
my 6750 runs in the 35-40 range OC'd to 3.0 on stock volts and cooler.

AIM me: MAGNET794For proper support: what are you running? video card, cpu, m/board, ram, power supply, brand, wattage, any error message? PCI-E requires 26 amps at 12 volts. That's a 650W PSU. Power Supply Info and Selection . Info on thermal compounds & application . TEST PSU USING MULTI-METER |
