Re: Simple question...

nice catch OMG I was researching but couldnt get a handle on that case size for sure

personally I would spend the extra $50.00 and buy a new case like the coolermaster centurion or similar ....... micro atx cases just plain dont have enough air flow to make them good gaming rigs !!

Re: Simple question...

Well, I planned on getting the coolermaster cosmos 1000, a q9450, 2 9600 GT's in SLI (I have one already), I am not sure if Ram needs to be like Corsair or whatever, I have a Bluray drive, and I have some good HD's (2x500gb).
As for overclocking, I just want the 9450 to go from 2.66 to 3.20 and my Graphics cards to run my games at an extreme rate of speed.
I thought I would use an Asus board for the overclocking potential, and the 680 or new 780 chipset. (nvidia).

I have also heard that 3dmark doesn't matter...
Why is that? I would think it does, because systems that break 12,000 can run Crysis well, and ones that don't can't.

Hey, you guys are the pros, I have not made a single purchase without coming here first (other than the gm5664, but how would I have found you guys without a PC in the first place? Lol.)

So what;s wrong with my config?
And why is 3dmark so Irrelevant to the smarter people (linderman, who is the reason I bought my PSU for 100 dollars instead of 40)

Thanks guys...

Re: Simple question...

Begin with GPU's 1 ea 9800 GTX $210.00 matchs performance of 2ea sli 9600gt 2x $220.00, 1ea 9800 GX2 $420.00.

As suggested SLI is wasted $$$$ and increases the PSU requirements .. adds extra stress on the PSU unit.

what processor flavor you wish the latest Dual Core E8XXX, or Quad Core?

Re: Simple question...

FORGET nvidia chipsets they are buggy nasty little !@#$%^&*()_ that will drive you crazy

get the intel P35 chipset and intel E8400 or E8500

it overclocks VERY easy ...... will go to 3.6 ghz with NO overclockign knowledge whatsoever !!

the AMD will not overclock as far as you want ...... the lemon has already been squeezed by AMD at time of sale (in other words they are factory overclocked) in an effort to keep pace with Intel; which is a task AMD is failing miserably .......... why you think they are posting HUGE millions of dollars in losses .......... AMD needs to get back to the drawing board and make a line of CPU's from SCRATCH that offer something ..... they are still drawing a pay check off their old reputation.

as for SLI that is the dream that never was..................... check out the ATI 4870 kicks everythings butt out there now and its $300.00

although I would not hesitate to go with a 8800 GT or anything above it !!
