CPU speed always at 50 or higher
My CPU speed is always at 50% or higher. There are no applications running on task manager. Ive had this problem for a while and cant find any solutions. I checked for viruses but nothing turned up. I formated and reinstalled Windows but I still have the problem. Help please!!!

Are we talking about CPU speed or CPU usage
Can you tell us about your system
IF OEM Brand and Model
If custom build
Motherboard, Brand And Model
CPU

Sorry, Im totally new to computers. I wouldnt know where to find half of that information. Heres what I do know..

Motherboard- Biostar K8NHA GRAND
CPU-AMD Sempron-(tm) Proccessor 2800+
Video Card-RADEON 9500 Pro / 9700 Family

In Task Manager go to the Processes Tab check the CPU column What processes have the highest numbers?

system idle shows 99. nothing else

If you open an application does it go to 100% or does it always stay at 50-55%?

It shots up to about 80%-90% but then it goes back down to around 50%
