Acer M5630
I'm hoping someone can help me here so here goes....
I have an Acer M5630 with quad core processor and was under the impression that this would be an reasonably quick PC the RAM is 2G ( will update to 4G )and using vista home as my OS. I keep reading that this computer has 4 cores but only uses 1 core ( some jargon my be incorrect ). I belive this computer has the ability to be quicker than what it current is.Can anyone help to work out what is slowing this computer down and/or change it's setting. Thanking in advance Meljam ![]() |

Re: Acer M5630
Hi,
it may be using it's Speedstep Technology which will throttle the processor when it's not working under load. Try giving it something intensive to do and/or multitasking and you'll see how it copes. Or you could just download one the many free benchmarking utilities available and give it a run.
