My System

What next?

This is what I bought:
http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/gat...-32851155.html

I have also now bought a 9600 GT to replace the video card, but it is PCI 2.0 so I can't unlock the full potential, and I only have one pci x16 (i want sli/crossfire)
I bought a 9850 to replace my 9600
and a new power supply.

Someone said to port the HD's, Optical drive, My bought items to a whole new case and motherboard.
rebuild an OEM PC with all new stuff.

This is mainly for overclocking and to unleash the pci 2.0 of the graphics card and hopefully run SLI..

What do I do?
What should I get?

Re: What next?

Hi,
My honest opinion is that you sell your system and buy an SLI / Crossfire one.

If you are going to build a system, you need to do some research and ensure every single component is compatible. No offence, but from your post it looks like you've been buying hardware without doing this sort of research.

Apologies if I'm wrong.

Re: What next?

I agree with Hound

Sell off this one on ebay and then start from scratch

as for PCI express 2.0 ..... its only available on X38 and X48 chipset motherboards ....... it offers nothing right now over the standard PCI express 1.0 if you want to call it that

X38 and X48 motherboards are insanely priced and dont offer any peformance that cant be had without spending STUPID amounts of money

IMHO forget SLI ........ its a dying or decaying technology ...... look to a high powered single card like the 8800 GTX or better yet ATI 4850 ........ 8800GTS is also no slouch

I'm not sooooo impressed with the newer 9800's
