Question About RMA to ASUS
I have an Asus M2N-SLI deluxe motherboard. The system has been running great since September, however the other night it froze and now fans spin for 2-3 seconds and it shuts off. I have replaced every component, cleared cmos and done everything I can think of and have determined that it is the motherboard. The problem is that when I first got the motherboard I broke a pin on the ide port like an idiot. I was able to fix it by placing a pin in the cable in the same location. Anyway, will this prevent me from being able to RMA the board? I hope not because the issue has nothing to do with the broken pin. Has anyone had an experience with ASUS RMA and how do you think they will react?

Re: Question About RMA to ASUS
they will give you a new board based on the fact its not running .............
if you had returned the board only because of the broken pin......... then you might have received the ole "Potomac two-step"

Re: Question About RMA to ASUS
Don't hold your breath on ASUS's RMA process.. we built several PC's with the K8N4-E DELUXE NF4 in 2005, ASUS knowing they shipped millions of these boards with defective fans, sent in a RMA request waited one month until the particular customer kept calling us when is their PC going to be repaired..ended up buying 30 $2.00 fans installed them free of charge... sinse we have to warrenty our builds this was the easy solution.
You've two options replace the board, or add a PCI-IDE card. Last edited by OMGmissinglink : 07-11-2008 at 03:44 PM. |
