[SOLVED] Problem with new computer
Hey everyone
I'm back at the most useful tech support resource i know firstly this topic will probably be mover but i didnt know where to put it, sorry ok my problem i got my computer back from the guy who sold it to me (i asked him to basically put all the settings back to how he sold it to me cos i fiddled with it and broke it xD) i got it back today, hooked it all up and theres no signal to the monitor, keyboard or mouse. basic problem im hoping to get solved quickly the setup worked fine before it was sent away spec that i know of: amd athlon 62 x 2 processor (i think thats right) which is dual core at a total of 4.4ghz 2gb kingston ram my motherbord as far as i can remember is an nvidia one and a nvidia gforce 7900gt graphics card i've tried all 3 of my monitors in the normal slot and the slot on my videocard using some sort of adaptor that came with it (geez im so technical) i think thats about everything i need to say oh, all monitors work fine on other PC's, im using my main monitor now infact |

what power supply
brand wattage try a cmos reset turn the computer off remove the power lead from the back take the side off remove the cmos battery move the cmos jumper from pins 1 and 2 to pin 2 and 3 and the back to pins 1 and 2 replace the battery put the side on replug in the power lead boot the computer there can be 2 solder points you touch with a screwdriver 2 pins you touch with a screwdriver or use a jumper a cmos clear switch or button there will be a diagram and instructions in your manual

thanks for your help i think ill try removing the battery and putting it back in but i dont know what a cmos jumper is hahaha
as for the power supply its nothing to do with that as the setup was working fine when i sent it off 2 weeks ago, and was working fine a week ago when it was tested before it got sent back to me also dont have a manual as its a custom build i have done the whole battery thing before on another computer so ill try that and see what happens thankyou very much |

sadly taking out the battery, discharging the power and replacing the battery has had an effect on the signal to the monitor
any other suggestions from anyone? anyone had a similar problem? |

well this is a really stupid issue.....because my computer wont boot up i think thats why my mouse isnt working because its usb instead of regular, i dont have any regular mouses
they keyboard is normal so i could try enter bios.....but its like poking a stick in the dark if i cant see the menu options i cant enter the bios and change anything i dont think |

oh i forgot to add the fact that all my computers have to boot up to detect my usb mouse because its 'new hardware' wont work until its detected after windows splash screen
