OS: Home Premium

My System

My Phenom sucks kinda...

I would like to transfer my entire computer to a new CPU and Motherboard.
Do I have to rebuy another OS?

How about this...
I have vista home premium.
I have an XP boot disc for another PC which I have used to fix other people's PC's by doing clean installs, but can I use it to swipe my HD and have it register successfully?

I have a 9600 upgrading to an 8800 GT (Yes, it's an upgrade).
3 GB of cheap RAM (does that matter? Is there better RAM?)
2x500gb HD's
Optical is a HDDVD/BLURAY blah blah hybr... somethin or other.

AND!!! A 9600 Phenom.
Can't overclock, it's from Bestbuy, I don't even know what oCing my ram means. My PSU is brand new and upgraded for the gpu.

I just want more power and I'm rambling.
What do I do?
And why does AA looks so stupid, Lol.

Anyone who can answer all this is a God.
Thank you
;)

Re: My Phenom sucks kinda...

If you have a Retail copy of your OS and you want to build a new computer or buy a new computer, YES, you can transfer the OS over. If you have a OEM copy, then NO, you can't transfer from your old computer to your new computer.
