I just built a new computer. All IDE plugs by the way. I pressed the power button while saying a little prayer, and the comp turns on. But then a message appears saying "Disk boot failure, Insert system disk and press enter". So i say to myself, ok ill insert the motherboard CD and reboot. Again, same message. So then i put in the Windows XP disk and start it up. Again, same message. Can anyone help me and tell me why its doing this? or what i have to do to fix it? Thank you.

Re: Disk boot failure, Insert system disk and press enter
You won't use the mobo driver disk for a while...so don't worry about it yet.
Put your XP disk in the drive, and then enter the BIOS...make sure your boot order is CD then HDD etc. Save and exit BIOS, boot it up, and you should see the "press any key to boot of CD prompt" |
