future proof (sort of) motherboard

im currently running the following:

AM2 Athlon 6000+
Nforce4m-a
2.5GB RAM
4xIDE drive (2xHDD, 2x optical)
ATi x550 256mb

i need a new motherboard that can use this processor, as well as, when i come to upgrade, one of the new quad cores (phenom, is it?) i also want PCIe 2, as i plan to get a new 8800 GTS 512.

any suggestions? i was looking at the Asus M3A, but i dont know enough about motherboards to make a decision...

thanks,

Raptorkid

Re: future proof (sort of) motherboard

Hi, check out the very latest motherboards with AM2 sockets, then visit the manufacturers websites and have a look at the CPU Support list for each board that you like.
