Re: computer doesnt gets on

Set the board up outside of the case, you may have a wayward
brass standoff grounding the board. The mobo cannot touch the
case, or be grounded by a standoff that is not in the right place..

Re: computer doesnt gets on

The problem can't be with the RAM or Battery - i'd suggest you do what MANIC proposing. it could be some grounding with the new case.

when you put it back into the old case, is everything alright again?

Re: computer doesnt gets on

LMAO at caps. If your brother has updated the BIOS with a BIOS file for another motherboard, then it sounds like the motherboard is probably knackered because of this. Only thing left to try is a BIOS flash utility on floppy with the proper BIOS file and then boot from floppy if you can.

Re: computer doesnt gets on

As Lazareth1 mentioned, lots of luck with that. If the wrong flash
was used the cmos chip may need replacing.

Re: computer doesnt gets on

guranteed that you will need to replace your bios CHIP

go to ebay and do a search for "bios chip" you will find plenty of chip programmers who will get you the correct bios and then you system will breath air again

Re: computer doesnt gets on

You have a gigabyte GA 965-DS3 go to manufacturers website and
find the online manual. That will give you a layout of the board.
The chip is probably close to the cmos battery. Its actually a eeprom,
or eprom. You can take it out with a paper clip, bent properly. If you
can find a local shop call them and ask them if they have a eeprom
burner. If they dont they will tell you the board is toast and try and
sell you another one. As mentioned do a search on ebay., for bios
chip/eeprom..cheaper than a new board, do some googling on the
subject to get familiar with what we are saying...
